Everything You Need to Know About RENOLUTION Grants 2024 in Brussels

RENOLUTION Grants Are Back in 2024

Good news for Brussels residents! Since 7 November 2024, RENOLUTION Grants are once again available. After gaining significant popularity, the initial budget was exhausted, temporarily halting new applications. Thanks to a budget revision by the Brussels government, applications have reopened for all projects with final invoices dated in 2024.

What Are the Conditions and Deadlines?

Here are the key rules to know to qualify for RENOLUTION Grants:

  1. Application Period: Applications must be submitted within 12 months of the final invoice date for the works. Exception: If your final invoice was issued after 16 August 2023 and the 12-month period has lapsed, you can still submit your application until 31 December 2024. This exceptional measure accounts for the temporary interruption of the online form.
  2. Ongoing Works in 2024: If you submitted an incomplete application before the portal closed due to a missing final invoice, it’s recommended to cancel your application via IRISbox and resubmit it correctly.
  3. Planned Works for 2025: Projects with final invoices issued in 2025 will require an update to the rules. The new terms will be communicated once the government finalises the grant system for the coming year.

How to Apply?

All procedures are completed via IRISbox, the Brussels-Capital Region's digital portal. This centralised electronic gateway simplifies the process:

  • Gather the required documents, including the energy audit, invoices, and photos of the completed works.
  • Log in to IRISbox.
  • Complete the form and submit your application online.

Why Choose RENOLUTION Grants?

RENOLUTION Grants provide a unique opportunity to finance works that enhance comfort, reduce energy consumption, and increase property value. Whether for effective insulation, window replacements, or eco-responsible installations, these grants make renovations accessible to more Brussels residents.

Don’t wait! If you’re planning works or have final invoices from 2024, take the time to check your eligibility and submit your application today.

questions? FAQs

What are the main benefits of installing a heat pump and solar panels?

Installing a heat pump and solar panels provides a number of benefits.

- Lower energy bills: heat pumps capture energy from the air, water and ground to heat or cool your home thus requiring  much less energy than traditional systems. When coupled with solar panels, which generate electricity from the sun, this can considerably reduce your energy bills.
- Eco-friendly: these systems use renewable energy and reduce CO2 emissions thus helping to combat climate change.
- Energy self-sufficiency: by generating your own electricity and using a heat pump, you are less dependent on energy suppliers and are not subject to price fluctuations.
- Increases the value of your property: homes equipped with eco-friendly heating and electricity-generation systems often have a higher value.

Can these systems work together to maximise energy efficiency?

Yes, heat pumps and solar panels work together very efficiently. Solar panels generate electricity that can be used to power the heat pump. This allows the generated energy to be utilised directly for heating, cooling, and domestic hot water, thereby maximising the energy efficiency of your system. Not only does this reduce costs, it also reduces your home's carbon footprint.

What are the initial costs of installing a heat pump and solar panels?

Initial costs vary depending on a number of factors, such as the size of your home, the type of heat pump you require, the number of solar panels needed, and the specific characteristics of your installation. On average:

- Heat pump: the cost of a heat pump is between €20,000 and €35,000 (including installation).

- Solar panels: the cost of a standard installation is between €10,000 and €35,000 for an output of 3 kW to 20 kW.

These costs can be reduced thanks to various financial aids, subsidies and tax incentives, depending on where you live.
